Sunsets

There are upsides to everything. I'm not training and racing like I used to, and therefore don't require quite the same amount of sleep I did when cranking out 130 mile weeks. In the past, I was asleep on a lot of summer nights before the sun even went down. In the last couple weeks we've seen a lot of beautiful sunsets. The photos from San Francisco and Maine showed a few. Over the past few nights, the evenings in Salt Lake have been exceptional.

Its worth staying up a little past my old bedtime :-)

The Maine Event - #LukeandAnneLongRun

On the heels of Canada and San Francisco (and China for Andrea), we continued a month of hardly ever being home by traveling to Southport, Maine for the wedding of our friends Luke and Anne.

The weekend was perfect: A sunset boat cruise on Friday evening, annoying the Boothbay locals by dominating the karaoke bar later that evening, a fun-run/race showdown on Saturday morning before a beautiful wedding and fun reception later that evening, and the always enjoyable post-wedding brunch on Sunday morning where tales of the previous evening can be rehashed.

Like our trip to Canada, we were able to spend quality time with our friends who are scattered all over the country. Living in Utah leaves us a bit geographically isolated from a lot of our friends, so these kinds of trips are extra awesome.

San Francisco

When you stack several trips on top of each other, the blog will inevitably fall behind.

Andrea and I spent a long weekend in San Francisco over the Pioneer Day holiday. We did some trail runs in Marin County and enjoyed the relatively good weather.
