The training calendar for September
September was one of the best blocks of training Andrea and I have had in our lives. Nothing fancy, just high mileage and solid workouts. After racing quite a bit in August, we focused on getting several weeks of uninterrupted work in to prepare for the Long Beach Half Marathon (October 9th). Our OktoberFAST 5K was a nice way to kickstart the new month (hard to beat running a 5K PR!).
For the day-by-day training summary in September, check out Jake's Log and Andrea's Log.
The competition in Long Beach is going to be first class. Their elite coordinator has assembled a field of ~30 runners (20 males, 10 females) who are OTQ hopefuls (some have actually already hit the standard). We're going to have our hands full to say the least!
