I'm almost a week late on posting this race recap, but I left immediately afterwards and headed to the beach in North Carolina, so I've been semi-off the grid.
The Dart Challenge is a fundraiser for the Davis XC team. Flat lollipop course, very competitive... I'd highly recommend it. I went into this thinking I could run around 14:50, but was a little flat and didn't have a great run. There was a course mix-up towards the end, with the leader going off course and I slowed down so he could catch back up to me. I ended up running 15:08 for 2nd place, which technically is an altitude 5K PR (by 1 second). My full race report is on my Fast Running Blog page. I knew I was in much better shape than 15:08, but things don't always go according to plan, although sometimes it ends up working in your favor. Writing this almost a week later, I ended up knocking out two solid speed workouts in the days after this race, and my confidence is high going into the TOU 1/2 Marathon.
